Triumph Spitfire - bmw 325i engine transplant

I am looking to replace my Spitfre 1500 engine with a BMW 12 valve straight six something like 323i or 325i, and doing a "GT6" conversion with a modern twist. If anybody knows of anybody who has done anything similar I would be very interested to hear from them, as I am not aware of anybody having done anything like it before.
