MG TD TF 1500 - Bobby Don Carr, Kalamazoo
Hi, my name is Don Baker. I purchased a 1955 mgtf in Feb 2007 in Texas. A former owner was Bobby Don Carr from Kalamazoo. I am just curious if any of the membership happened to know Mr. Carr. The car is a '55 MGTF "1500". The drive train is an MGB probably 1965 "1800". I am hoping some one knows the history of this car. Mr. Carr supposedly owned the car for about 20 years. I owned a 1954 MGTF in 1957 for a short period of time and always wished I had kept the car. When I answerred an ad last year I discovered the "55 was just one mile from my house by a Mr. Jensen. Any help would be appreciated. thanks, Don Baker, Burleson, Texas

Suggest you contact British car clubs in Western Michigan. Also look up Jim Gilmore who is a giant in old cars including MG's in Kalamazoo. Dick Thomas

The Jenson I mentioned in my first post would not have showed up as owner. His name is Peter and he buys and sells specialty cars. Thanks, Don Baker, Burleson, Texas

Don, if you would like to tell us your chassis/I.D. number, then there are a few lists we can check to help. Cheers, Matthew. HDB 26/9097

Hi Don, I live in Kalamazoo and I'm a member of the Old Speckled Hens MG car club out of Grand Rapids. I do not know a Bobby Don Carr, however, the clubs Fall Color Tour is next weekend and it will give me a good chance to ask around. I'll let you know what I find. Best regards, Jim Budrow Kalamazoo

Thank you Don, Nothing on my list, but do not know if you have seen the Factory Records on the T Register website (UK) which show you car was built on the 3rd of November 1954 with the original engine XPEG 1735. Original colour was/is red. Cheers, Matthew.

| Thanks Matthew, I haven't seen the color listed before although I know the white paint it has now has red undernieth. I also know the car has been in a wreck because in removing the gas tank to clean and line the inside with a rust protector I found a lot of bondo especially on the side next to the tub.
