MG MGF Technical - Fusebox Help needed to Identify Plug

When looking straight into the in car fusebox, along the top are the plugs for the instrument unit.
On the right at the top is a a white looks like 8 way socket with nothing in it.
Anyone know what this is for?
The wires on the back go of to the PAS and ABS units. is it a diag socket?

As you guessed, it is a diagnostic socket.
