MG MGF Technical - 5 speed gearbox advice

Hi
I'm toying with fitting a 5 speed box to my midget.
Basic Spec: 1973, 1430cc (100bhp)
Im on my 2nd box already & 3rd gear has started crunching. I know its going to need a rebuild soon.
I use the car as my everyday transport.
Who has experience of 5 speed conversions. I like the sporty feel of my existing box, will I lose this?
Any personal experiences would be appreciated.
