MG MGB Technical - D overdrive problem

Recently had the overdrive on my early B shift out at high speed, high revs. It is not an electrical problem. The OD is direct wired. Any idea what I should look for?

First thing I would try is to check the oil level. The internal clutch is driven by oil pressure, so if the oil is a bit low it can misbehave.

Why do you say it is not an electrical problem, what tests have you done? Also what do you mean by 'direct wired'?
