MG ZR ZS ZT Technical - Dyson To The Rescue

perhaps we could do away with the air filter altogether, and install a Dyson vacuum cleaner instead. The fan could be set to suck slightly ahead of engine speed, because you're either contributing or in the way, and with a bottomless bin, it wouldn't need emptying because the dust would drop out on to the floor.

The principle is already in use in Helicopters and military vehicles in the Middle East - I think Pall Filtration have the patent on this - the Centri-Sep unit. It's a panel of minature funnels that create the votex to spin the solids out.
