Austin-Healey Sprite - Sprite Parking Brake

Has anyone had a problem adjusting the parking brake cable on a 1960 (Frogeye) Sprite? I assumed after 40 years that the cable had stretched beyond adjustment but a new cable is exactly the same length; the rear brakes are correctly adjusted but the cable will not draw tight.

Release the handbrake, then back off the rear brakes at the drum. Then remove the clevis pin near the diff, then re-adjust the brakes.
As you reconnect the clevis pin you will find it will not reconnect, so adjust the cable to fit into the clevis pin.
Your problem should then be fixed.
